Good idea

The system was interesting and well done, but the fact that you only have 2 different "campaign" levels truly ruins the potential of this game. Capitalizing on different arangements, possibly some obstacles and things like that would have enhanced it greatly, along with lenght, of course. Another thing that irked me was that there was no way to track my score in Sandbox, which would have been one more reason to hang around. Decent music, although it did get a little repetitive after a while.

Great quiz

on a side note, just to clear it up to others who saw this: the best grade you can get in emotion is an F , so if you get an F ya did good.
Now onto the review. Very nicely done quiz, incorporates everything from common knowledge about zombies to firearms. Including: places to stay, What you would do scenarios and other. A very good quiz all in all, and i cant wait for the second one.

Nice

the only faults I saw in this game were the fact that you only have one soundtrack playing at any given time, and the rate at which your bugs "leveled up" between different tiers was infuriating. Now, I'll explain some aspects of the game that could be useful to people wanting to play the game.
You can only breed bugs once they reach 30 days of age, and even then, only once every 30 days. females (not sure about males) loose fertility (in other words, loose the capability to breed.) at 300 days. Bugs keep growing in size until they are around 100 days old, and they I noticed that their stats (for racing and fighting) keep going up until around the mid 100s. MALES are STRONGER than FEMALES. To check what "level" or tier a bug is in, click on the "bug list" icon (bottom right). In the beginning of the game, breed as soon as possible, and often. sell excess bugs. keep a few females to speed the money gaining process. when you have around $1800 and a healthy supply of food (the only useful food is apples, other than drugs buts its hard to find these anyway), go to the shop and wait for people to start selling tier 3 bugs (costs $1800) . breed until you have $1800 again, and buy another tier 3 bug (make sure it is the opposite gender of the last one, if you bought male, buy a female and vice versa. you can also obtain another tier 3 by breeding, if you manage this, just keep raking in the cash) breed the two tier 3 together and sell all of the other bugs except for a female (this is because the higher tiers require more food and happiness, and if you ever need quick cash, breed with the secondary female.) Once you have at least three tier 3 bugs at 100 days, go to the fighting/racing arena. find the people with stats that are worse than your bugs (Note: Strength and Health are only for fighting, but strength is more important. speed is only for racing.) try to get someone that you can easily win against, but be careful with races because they are harder to win (also, if you bet on a fight, you will get the same amount you bet. If you bet on a race, you will win double, but you can also loose double, so BE CAREFUL when choosing to race). Keep breeding your tier 3s until you get a tier 4. sell anything under a tier 3 immediately at this point. keep breeding your bugs and buying a good amount of toys (three swing sets, the toy that cost $900, are enough for quite a few bugs) and stock up on apples (seriously, buy LOTS of apples and spam them on your screen.) and eventually you will get the tier 5 bug, it takes a while, but this works.

Epic

truly one of the best games on newgrounds, great storyline and awesome gameplay, not to mention one of the first of its kind on newgrounds.. i salute you both as an artist and as a programmer

Maybe...

I really dont understand many of you people... it IS a shoot em up, and whats wrong with him getting an idea from frantic? (if that is what he did) there isnt a problem, look at madess for example, lots of people take madness sprite sheets, edit them a little bit, throw in a story and if the story and animation is decent, it gets a good score simply for being madness.... so i dont think its all too bad, for one, he probably had to code the thing himself, and draw it all up too, it is pretty slow for a shooter tho.... other than that, I really couldnt see a problem.....

utque responds:

thanx for your review.
This is my first flash game. So the algorithm is not as good as I want it to be.
My following games will be faster, better and less like frantic:)

I had a very unlucky timing. I began coding before frantic showed up, and it lasted so long, I couldn't even finish the level designs properly.

As I said, next versions will be better.

It has potential

there is a lot of potential in this game, but there were some bugs that you probably already saw..... all i have to say is wtf is going on? i didn't really understand why things were happening so in the actual game you might want to start a bit earlier in the story line (before he is in the giant tube) so that we can all understand what happens after....

Derick77 responds:

Ill update this in the desicription, but this game is going to lead on after a Graphic Novel (which will be uploaded soon), the story is explained in the graphic novel, and this is part of the story, as soon as the graphic novel is done i will make a player to view the novel, which will then lead onto this

Awesome RPG

Firstly to the guy below me, if you don't have the patience to read the tutorials the first time around... don't play at all, the selling feature IS explained within the game so yeah... pay a little more attention next time....
Now, to the game itself... I found no bugs while i played and the game was Clean and nicely coded in general, i didn't like a few things tho, for example, a few enemies would ONLY notice you once you started to hit them which sorta sucked cause it made them look like they were blind or sleeping. another thing was that you solidly specified in the game which faction "should" be followed (you start off with more Reputation with one faction than anothe) and also you marked the shadow faction as being "evil" (they invade your homeland and etc.) and the Alliance Faction looked "good" (defending homeland from invaders) the faction system while it was a first and was very cool could be tweaked so that if you sided with a faction you wouldn't feel that "good vs evil" thing, a prime example of this is (yes it is, take a look at the game) World of Warcraft, you can't say that the Horde is good or evil and you can't do that for the alliance either.... making it so that choosing your own path from the beggining was easier would make the game a lot more enjoyable than it is.... thanks for the attention

Nice...but...

one of the main problems in this game is that all the guns have virtually NO recoil.... yes they did have some but not enough to actually make you miss. if you, for example, held the mouse button on the full-auto and positioned the gun correctly you can hit every single shot at the 100-60 points on a few of the levels (while holding the mouse button) one other thing that i noticed but didn't really reduce playability at all was that while using the pistol, when you shoot all it does is move backwards, instead of the top part sliding back as it would on an actual pistol... it is a really good game and a nice time waster but it was missing a few things.... i disagree with those below saying you require "live" enemies to shoot at, at the title screen you see on the lower part of the screen " a first person shooting tactical TARGET PRACTICE game" so really all you did was do what you yourself were up to..... thanks for the attention, and i hope to see more from you

Very nice.... but

as some said below... there is an ultimate strategy. simply ignore the"damage:low" on archers.... summon them and tank (use yourself as a human shield) the monsters, while that, heal yourself and bash the rest. there is a problem in the game itself though, the heal command is to easily exploited making you invincible if you use the strategy above, maybe, for your next game, you could let the players buy potions and switch characters in between levels, the potions (depending on their cost/size) heal you for a diferent amount and the characters could have diferent atributes each, like strenght, dexterity (giving you an increased attack speed and/or dodge chance) and armor.... thanks for the attention and the great game
